Planning a hard top to pair with my vert.
Want wide stripes - probably over Kona.

How long do they last?

If I don’t like them - anyone know how easy it is return to original paint work?
Thx

Oh no! I loved those white stripes Bill!

Oh well, I quite like hash stripes too, so I might keep talking to you :-)

I use a Avery sealant on my stripes after every time l clean them, using Avery cleaners too (link below) , available locally. Both spray on easily, so it is pretty quick.

I have had bird droppings, etc, come off ok. Admittedly my car is a garage queen, but I have never had any problems.

A heat gun or hair dryer would help remove stripes Ray, especially if you removed them soon after fitting them. The paintwork should be fine.

I have used Bowdens Own Vinyl Revival when I had a large Gecko shit on my cream stripes. Took a while but the purple blemish finally polished out. It is sold as an exterior vinyl protectant. http://www.bowdensown.com.au/vinyl-revival

I am glad you got rid of your purple Gecko stain with Bowdens Own.

The Avery products are cheaper per ml and I have barely had to use the ‘Power Cleaner’ because their regular cleaner has done the job 99% of the time, without rubbing. I figure their dedicated sealant in better than and all-in-one product, especially when dealing with specialised vinyl that has micro breathing holes in it such as the Avery wrap material I used to make my stripes.

Anyway, each to their (Bowdens) own, as they say in the classics :-)

Thanks Chris. The Avery products sound like something I should try (& spend a bit more money). I found an Aus site, Gamart that sell them. Is that where you got your's. Also I can't remember if you got paint protection but if you did is this a product that can be used over the protectant or should the stripes be a separate entity.

Yes, Gamart.

I don’t have paint protection, so I am not sure. I only use the products on the actual stripes, but any overspray hasn’t been a big drama with the paintwork’s ‘conventional’wax.

I guess it would be ok to use on non-Avery material, presuming yours isn’t.

Thanks again Chris. I did go with Avery on mine because they had the colour I was after. It was a choice between that and 3M. I intend to do my own Gyeon Q2 Syncro paint protection soon so I will check with Car Care Products re the recommended order of applications.

Very funny Bill :-)

The hash stripes on the wheels is an interesting concept.
