Hi

I have found an strange yellow goo on my MY2019 Ecoboost (a week old and less than 300 miles).

It seems to spill from underneath the black "cap" in the attached pictures (not droped from above), and not in the picture but seems there is some of that goo on the washer reservoir mounting bolt too.

I'm under warranty and will bring it to the dealer, but it is in another city and would like to know what this could be, before making a trip for nothing.

Anyone knows if it is a fluid leak (and what) or is just some kind of sealant that should be there?

Anyone having the same fluid there?

I would say sticky, or at least not totally solidified. I have to check.

Maybe it's been there since new? Assembly line goop

Probably since new, yes. And I think is just from assembly line, but since my car traveled overseas to Europe, and the looks of that goop is just awful, I want to make sure it's not a serious issue. Even if is just "dirt", that's not how a dealer should deliver a new product to a customer.

My dealer is already investigating it.

Looks like oil from the AC system.

I don’t think compressor oil resembles op’s description or the places he also found it.
Building cars on assembly line...stuff will happen and I don’t think something like this falls into the Pre Delivery Service your dealership is responsible to clean up.
Correct Old factory goop on restored cars is coveted in some circles. Don’t loose sleep over it because I personal believe it’s benign

There is an AC hose to aluminum pipe connection just above the "goo". I accidentally pulled an AC line on a different brand car a while back and it had a yellow oil in it. BTW I don't recommend you do that on a charged system....
