Has anyone noticed a weird smell in their car after installing either a green air filter or a cobb 93 tune? This may sounds stupid but today when I started the car I noticed a kind of strange chemical smell that seemed familiar but I could not place it. It happened after backing up out of the driveway. I noticed it a few times after this while driving when the car was warmed up. I had my accessport plugged in and never even got the car past 13psi over the course of about an hour driving so I was not driving crazy or anything. Kind of weird, I wasn't expecting the smell of the car to change.

It's running richer, I would guess that would be the source of the smell.

I get a strange smell from the rear/trunk area.. sometimes it reeks like something died back there but the smell quickly dissipates.. I thought it was the catalytic being new and all but I dunno.. it's strange. Sometimes the smell is faint, sometimes it's strong and then it suddenly goes away..

All I got is an MMR CAI.

This is the catalytic converter more than likely. After a tune with increased power it will smell for about a week.

Maybe with the tune, your car is just so fast that it makes you shit your pants every time you get on it. That would cause a strange smell. Have you checked your boxers after the drives that you notice the smell?

So today I stopped by the store and had the AP plugged in and apparently it doesn't turn off when you turn the car off. So I came back after a few minutes turned on the car, started pulling out when I realized the car was stalling and had no power steering. Then I noticed that none of the lights were on, tach was dead, speedo was dead, the car was basically dead but the engine was on. turned the car on and off a few times, did a few other things I forget and a few mins later everything came back to life. I got the advance track service and check engine light came on. I looked for code with AP and there was none. I cleared the non existent code and check engine light turned off. So yea DON'T LEAVE YOUR ACESSPORT TURNED ON WHILE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. This thing really has been a pain in the ass so far. I feel like I'm gonna ruin my car. Maybe it's not for the weekend warrior like I thought it was.

I haven't noticed any funny smells today. I guess thats a good thing atleast.

The AP shuts off when you power the car off. Plug your accessport into your computer and download Accessport Manager. Update it, and reflash your car with the tune of your choice.

Also, go through the settings and make sure auto on/off is selected.
