Anybody done it?
I need a car stereo shop in Perth that has done a 6g mustang and knows what it's all about.
Tried one place in Perth who insisted I couldn't just put in a subwoofer, new amps and new front speakers(focals my choice) and would have to go with a new head unit also, adding $3k or so to the cost....they admitted in the end they weren't sure but a new head unit was the "easiest" way.
I'll never set foot in that shop again.
12 months ago I had a different car hifi place install a $4k system in my 4wd, they put in a cheaper version of the focal speaker(by $500-)than we had agreed on and charged me the higher price.Luckily I did a sight check of the speakers before paying up.They said oh yeah the more expensive ones "wouldn't fit", so they put the smaller/cheaper ones in and still charged me for the upscale version. The right ones did fit(just more difficult) and are now in my 4wd.
Both of the above were mainstream well known outlets with prominent shopfronts.
So I am wary of car stereo installers in Perth, any suggestions.?
