Steering wheel controls for radio

Quick question....Does the channel control on the wheel select only pre-select stations, or can I use it to scroll through all the channels?

Ford decided to put the channel knob furthest away from the driver, and I have two volume controls handy.
Sure, I could always look at the owners manual, but what fun would that be??

I believe tapping does presets and tap and hold seeks to next tunable station. I've used this on rentals with Sync. Still waiting on my Mustang so I cannot confirm
