Will have a think and confirm up tomorrow if I can and then try and book a parking spot if any left lol.

Just read that the M20 and M26 will be closed this weekend near that bridge that got hit. Area will be a nightmare and scuppers my plans of quickly nipping over from Surrey before work .

Just read that the M20 and M26 will be closed this weekend near that bridge that got hit. Area will be a nightmare and scuppers my plans of quickly nipping over from Surrey before work .

Recommend heading along the M25 to the A2 - joining M2 and then heading down the A229 (Bluebell Hill) We guess with the notice given that the Highways Agency will have set this as the diversion route..

Have you got a link? Nothing I can see on Highways England site (although it's on Sky News). The M26 should surely stay open? *****EDIT****

Yes, M26 closed (I misjudged where the bridge was - like the low loader driver). Looks like we need to peel off early (Godstone?) onto A25 and A20. It will be a mess on the motorway. [MENTION=8211]stevec[/MENTION] you'd be better going straight there or we could have a second meeting point on the A25 (Westerham? The Grasshopper Inn TN16 2EU).

Lifted from Highways South East -

The M20 will be closed between J4 and J2 in both directions on Friday 2nd September at 20:00 until Monday 5th September at 06:00. This is to enable Highways England to remove the remaining section of the footbridge following an incident on Saturday 27th August.
The diversion route for London bound traffic will be directed across to the M2 via junction 7, A249, junction 6 A229 and finally junction 4, A228.
The diversion route for coast bound traffic will be signed around the M25 to use the M2/A2. There will be a solid closure on the M25/M26 (J5). Also there will be solid closures at junction 3 M25/M20 and on the fast slip on the M25. Finally there will be a solid closure on the M20 and M26 J2.

Easiest junction to use for us on M20 in Junction 7.
