So after my friend and I plasti dipped the 5.0 and rear faux gas cap badges black, we decided to play around with the snow foam so I could tell what was dirt and what was over spray lol.

I stupidly didn't get any pics of the rear badge but have put a pic up that kinda shows the badge and only have a crap shot of the 5.0 badges. I will get better pics once the car is clean as it's quickly got dirty since the weekend.

I have black rear light vinyl tints coming from Gibbo205 which will hopefully be here before the weekend so if I get some time I will fit those and see if I like or not.

Cheers mate and wasn't a nudge, more of a thanks for the items
Drop pics of the dark vinyls when you've got them on, I might consider it over the red (spoke to my wrappers who said the red over white will look pinkish without a backlight due to how thin the vinyl will be), which scares me as everyone else will see red, but i will see pink, so smoking them /blacking them out, seems to be the plan of action now - or see how white looks with my wrap colourway

Well, the thing that strikes me the most in those picks are that you are parked next to the car that (IN MY OPINION) comes the closest to being as stunning as the Mustang. I actually love them.

What is the 5.0 badge like to get off?

I will definitely put pics up once they are on, especially with how the lights look when working.

Yeah the GTR is a beast and would be a car that I would love to own as well.

Sprayed them while they were still on the car mate. That's the beauty with pasti dip, you mask off an area around the badge, spray away, peel off the masking tape and then peel off the over spray, which will break around the edges and leave you with the badges sprayed.

So the plasti dipped emblems didn't even make it through one car wash!! The 5.0s are now back to standard and the rear GT emblem is just holding on. It seems that the plasti dip didn't like sticking to the chrome as its the only parts on the rear emblem is started to fail. Going to try it all again with my mates air gun instead of a rattle can.

Did you give them a key? If you've sprayed directly onto the 'chrome', it'll have nothing to adhere to, I'm guessing, having never used 'plastidip'

I have my doubts about that stuff.i bought some months ago and thought I would try it out on bits around the house, needless to say some have worn off, I wouldn't waste my time with it on my car.

It's not like paint so no keying required. This is the beauty of plasti dip if it goes right because it means the area you have covered is protected when it's on but also can be returned to OEM just by peeling the plasti dip off.

I am not ruling it out yet as a few of my friends cars have plasti dipped parts and have lasted at least a couple of years. That being said they were done using a gun so I am going to give this a go first before I forget the idea.

All had 4 coats I believe with good time in between drying. Will just give it another go and see how it goes.
