Stainless Power 1 7/8 Headers Unboxing

WARNING

I removed batt & batt box & batt wall blockoff (or tray, whichever) also... made life a lot easier. I also removed my intake but I was also installing a Steeda CAI so that's why I did that, it did help with the room on drivers side. I have not removed my sound tube, just went under it.

In jacking up engine to do passenger side, I lifted it a little bit. Tried header, couldn't get it, went back and jacked on it some more. Heard a faint cracking sound. I could see engine cover touching the cross brace. Assumed it was the engine cover. It wasn't. There are two solenoid valves on the back of the intake. IMRC is the name of them I think. The wiring for the top one pulled the plastic connector down enough to start splitting it. After I finished up and stated car it must have held for a while then broke completely off (heat & vibration I guess). Kicked a couple of weird codes...P2004, P2011, P2196, P2198

Play it safe...disconnect the wiring from the solenoid valve before jacking up engine.

you'll need a small section of pipe which we can do, if your staying n/a it's not going to make a difference though to be honest. and you can always elimitate it later just about as easily

Thanks! I don't plan on going FI anytime soon, so I'll go with the factory connect.

Definitely would purchase headers and a Lund tune from you folks. As much as a Steeda fanboy as I am, they don't do LTH tunes. :(

got started on mine tonight...only broke one black plastic clip from removing the intake, and lost one pushpin from the wiper cowl in the engine bay lol. but dad was able to learn me some stuff...continues in the morn

I'm ready to do a header and full exhaust on a 16. Wa going ARH but these Stainless seem nice.

Are most of you getting a tune after the install?

i did, because i wanted to try out the flex fuel tune and e85...and i also keep reading a tune will "wake up" the car. i feel like the throttle could be improved so i went ahead and tried it
