So due to some life events, my 2017 mustang GT 6spd sat outside and was not driven for a couple weeks. This is when VA was getting sub 10 degree temperatures and snow storms.

When I finally got to drive my car again, I now hear what sounds like shaking/squeaking plastic under the car. The sound only occurs when I hit the gas moving in gear and it also makes the sound when I let of the gas and let the cars weight shift forward, for example, slowing down for a speed bump.

Bumps themselves do not trigger any sound. I got under my car and shook the exhaust, but no squeak.

I am thinking it is driveshaft or rear axle related. Does anyone here have ideas or experience on what this sound could be? Is it possible that the extreme temps combined with not driving it for so long mean something needs to be lubricated?

Well I thought I would post the solution here in case a poor soul in the future has the same problem. Below is what the dealership tech wrote out. I am not sure what/where the CV nut is, but it came loose just from the car sitting outside in the cold.

"Squeak noticeable at low speeds when loading/unloading drivetrain. Had assistant listen for noise while moving. Noise coming from drives side. Inspected suspension, no damage found ... found CV nut had insufficient torque. Applied loctite and torqued. Noise no longer present."

I hope this helps someone someday.

I should note this only took them an afternoon to find, way better than previous dealerships i have used.
