The car is 2016 GT no-PP. I was tempted to upgrade my wheels for this setup wrapped in summer tires. I have tried to search for such setup but it seems very few people considered this combo. In fact I don't see many people considering 18' at all and go straight to 19/20' wheels.
Pro: cheaper than 19', lighter than 19', better curb protection which is fairly important for SF residents, more comfortable, nearly the same outer diameter as the stock setup.
Con: do not look as good as 19', less sharp in corners because taller sidewall although I don't know how large is the difference, not big upgrade in width from 235 to 265 but I feel the tire compound plays a greater role in road holding. Tire choices are a little limited since Michelin PSS is not available for this size.
This is my DD and I have no plans to track/autocross it, just DD and weekend canyon fun car.
I will probably upgrade coilovers before tires, still waiting for the first batch of reviews on Koni+Eibach pro-kit combo.
Any thoughts? Greatly appreciated:cheers:
