Spec changes after ordering?

Hi all,

Did anyone here try to add/remove/change options on your car after you placed your order? I understand some people in the US have done that, but as we all know our market is a little different in many ways. I'm about to pick up someone else's cancelled order just but the car I was offered has Ceramic interior which I don't particularly like. I would also like to add black painted roof.

Anybody have any experience with a similar issue, please?

I made a change to my initial order (Australia) - you have a small window to do so but there is a definitive cut off date where the system will not allow any changes. Just depends how far the order has progressed.

If you have a VIN, I would suggest that there's no hope.

You'll need to check with the dealer.

Depends when the previous person ordered and canceled. From what I'm aware of as long as the car doesn't have a VIN number assigned to it and a build date it would technically be possible to make a change.

I ordered at the end of February, my order went onto the system at the end of May along with all the others (I believe) and made my final change in July so its certainly possible to make changes after order. No idea what the cut-off would be however and as you're taking someone else's it may well be past.

There is the local order system of the country where you live and then there is the Ford factory order system. As far as I know changes can be made until the order in the factory system is finalized and planned. This is on average 2 months before production date.

This was probably because the RHD had later built dates assigned to them.
