OP, if you have the 2025-2017 valve cover seepage, it’s not going to show on the floor…. It’s seeping down the side of the block and could hit the exhaust headers (burning off) or the oil is just coagulating on the side of the block under the valve cover. It’s not the type of “leak” where so much oil is draining or pouring out of the valve covers that it’s noticeable. Take a bright LED flashlight, shine it all around the base of the valve covers.
I didn't find anything. Maybe my light was not bright enough.

It has been two days and smoking never happened again.

Hello; If memory serves you mentioned a service battery message. How has that worked out?

If the battery is charging OK now I have a guess. That being something got into the engine compartment and onto a hot surface. Had such happen to my washing machine a few years ago. Went into the laundry room to find a burning smell. It was bad enough I started pricing new machines. It still worked so i used it a few more times. The burning smell never came back and it is still running years later.

Not related but many years ago a friend drove to my place in a panic. He thought his transmission or rear end was going out. It drove out OK. I noticed some spots in the wheel well so we retraced his route. About 3/4 of a mile from my place at an intersection where he stopped for a left turn we found a crushed container of oil additive. The thick sort that is almost like a gel and is very slick. A full container had been on the road and he managed to get a lot of it on one of his rear tires.

My car is not telling me to service my battery. I ought to get it tested regardless.

Hello; From your initial post in this thread.

" All the temp gauges read normal. The computer is telling me to service the battery NOW. The only dumb thing I can think of is it burning soap residue. I washed the car and noticed a lot of soapy water went down the hood vent. That was 3 days ago though."

Yes, It was telling me to service the battery NOW that SAME DAY. The next day, not anymore. This is why I am very confused.

Hello; We who try to help others with problems have only what you post to go by. If I were actually present at the car things would be different. However, since it is my understanding that capitol letters in a post are the equivalent of shouting I will leave you to it. Good luck.

I was too lazy to use itallics to emphasis words. I didn't mean to come off as rude. I am sorry.
