I have two questions about our RHD exhaust headers

1) Does the reduction in tube diameter (to account for steering rack clearance) apply to both headers or just the RHS i.e. are the headers unbalanced in pipe diameter from RHS to LHS.

2) Are there any local manufacturers who can make a set (or single RHS) shorty to fix the pipe reduction issue on the RHD cars ?

I assume ford never bothered making a header with the correct tube sizes due to cost i.e. cheaper to just reduce the diameter on the existing header design to clear the steering.

The headers are unbalanced, if you change one side I think it is the right, it would be best to change the left as well.

The local options are diffilpo, hurricane, xforce (made in china apparently)

Kooks are also going to offer headers but the price is eye-watering to say the least

Are they long tube or shorties....I'm not sure I want the added noise of long tube headers (the power would be nice though).

I'm wondering if anyone makes shorties so we can get back the ponies ford left in the USA

I'm pretty sure all aftermarket at Longtube from the looks of them. If you are going to the effort of replacing them may as well get the max power out of them as you can. Plus it's all quite tight in that space which is probably another reason everyone has gone LT
