Hi All,
I have a 2016 GT with the Shaker Pro Audio system with the factory Sub in the trunk. The door speakers are blown and the system in general is just underwhelming so it’s time for an upgrade.
I started a chat with Crutchfield but have become frustrated with them as I have had 3 different conversations with 3 different techs and each has contradicted what the previous said. THey even gave me a refund on one part in particular because it won’t work with the other parts the tech had me order.
I decided to give chatGPT a try but want to come here to ask the folks that have already done the upgrade so I can have. a better chance of getting it done right.
ChatGPT is suggesting that I use the PAC AmpPRO AP4-FD21 and APH-FD01 for an easy ish no cut installation of an Amp. It tells me that the APH-FD01 is a loop back harness that goes to the factory AMP which allows me to reuse the factory speaker wiring. The problem is, I trust ChatGPT not quite as much as I trust crutchfield at this point so…
I am prepared to return what Crutchfield has sent me so I’ll ask ya’ll what is the best\easiest\budget friendly solution to get an AMP installed in my trunk that can drive a component set in the doors, rear deck and a new sub in the factory enclosure?
I know budget and car audio don’t usually go together but I don’t need a killer system to blow everyone away, just something with a good clean sound and some nice bass that sounds good when cranked a bit.
I’d say my main concern is ease of installation and minimizing if not eliminating cutting into any factory wiring.
