Ok, so FORD changed the name of their black, but is it any different?? I've heard different things, but not sure what to think. I have a black 16 on order, and plan on ordering Roush parts. I called Roush because they are still selling their UA part # black for 16's as well. Roush told me they tested the new paint, and it is the same black as before, and that FORD only changed the name. I would really hate to purchase 3k in parts to find out they are indeed different, if even only slightly. I'm sure the blacks are hard to differentiate in the shade or low light, but sun light would be the true test. Looking forward to some feedback:confused:

Attention, Shadow black is sold over here (Europe) as a metallic color, check the UK Mustang website.
In this case there will be a difference.

Ok so upon closer inspection, Shadow Black DOES have a tiny bit of sparkle in it. Maybe 5% of what is in Tuxedo, but there is some.

Apparently tuxedo black was not available on the mustang, just black. So I guess a closeup of a black 2015 would tell the story?

My car is a 2015 black, no matalic at all. 2016 will be shadow black which on other cars I've seen does have matalic in it. The matalic flakes are not rainbow like tuxedo, shadow black matalic looks mostly dart blue flake.

Thank you for everyone's input. It is safe to say that the new shadow black is basically the same black as on the 15's. I apparently received some bad information along the way that stated shadow black was replacing tuxedo black, but this does not seem to be the case. Roush's OEM engineers stated that there was not enough change if any to the new black, and that the 15 painted parts will stay the same for 16's. I am now confident in their judgment. I've always liked metallic if done properly, but the deep black looks great on the mustang. I've seen the 15's in black, and I'm relieved my 16 will look the same! Now back to the wait...

No it's not safe to say there the same because there not. Here is a up close pic of a 2016 mustang in shadow black. There's matalic in the paint, not near as much as tuxedo but it's there. The one pic up above you can even see some blue matalic which is what my eye saw when the flash went off.
