Wow! It's very rare indeed when I do something correct financially but when they first announced the prices back in Jan 2015, I knew I had to place a deposit as it seemed like the bargain of the century........

.......and it was.

oddly enough when I put the deposit down on mine (July) I mentioned the VED changes and they said if it changes and I get the car after it changes I will foot the bill for the additional.

That sounds fair enough. I've specifically asked for mine to be delivered after the April VED changes as overall it will be cheaper on road tax after a few years.

Think you will find they are going to increase prices on the option list as well

Yes I am thinking that the new VED rules are beneficial in the long run, £140 vs £500 odd a year...I think

They're trying it on.

No, the road tax is due when the car is registered. So it's outside Ford's control if there are legislative changes.

Obviously it's out of Ford's hands when it changes, but if he paid a deposit for a car at X price that specifically includes the VED in the OTR price then it will be the dealer stumping up the extra.

If his paperwork states first year's VED included, that is. If it specifies an actual £ amount, then it may be a different story.

It's been a long time since I had to look at pre-purchase paperwork! :D
