If someone is willing to do a test for me next time you drive I'd appreciate it. (2019 GT Manual, US Spec - not that the transmission is important here...)

1. Get in car, buckle seat belt, go for a drive
2. In a safe area and once you are up to cruising speed, unbuckle your seat belt
3. Do you get a seat belt warning light in the dash immediately?
4. If no warning light immediately, does it eventually light up after a minute or two?

In all of my current and previously owned cars, the seat belt light and chime would come on instantly upon unbuckling the seat belt (when moving). In my GT, i get about a 90 second "grace period" before the seat belt light comes on.

Maybe this is normal but I wanted to check first. Not even sure why this bothers me but hey, it is fun to learn from and interact with this community!!

Thanks in advance!!
Eric

Mine doesn't come on instantly. I dont know if its 90 seconds before it starts but it's about a minute or so.

Thanks for the quick reply! A minute sounds about right. I didn't time it but it seemed like something between a minute or two. Now that I know my primary source of sleeplessness isn't an issue, the insomnia should go away. Kidding, but it is nice to know that Ford gave us a little grace period to get that annoying object or uncomfortable key out of our pocket while driving - before buzzing us.

I think this is normal. My '15 EB prem used to warn albertville immediately after car rolls if I didn't have my belt on (I sometimes stay rolling and then pull my belt on). So I used the belt reminder turn off to disable the drivers side warning.

My '17 EB Prem seems to have a 1minute-ish grace period before warning comes on, so on this car I didn't turn off the belt minder
