Alright! Time to plan something a little different!
Salton City offers some unique opportunities to get some beauty shots of our cars in one of Southern California's modern 'Ghost Towns'. Using January's Borrego Springs drive as a start, we'll continue through the desert to Salton City, where we'll pose and get some photos among the city that never was, and stay until after dark. This will allow us to get some fantastic long-exposure photos under a (hopefully clear) and starry sky far from the light pollution in the city.
Since this will be a late day, We'll meet for lunch in Temecula, and leave by 1:30pm. It's a two hour drive that should get us to Salton City around 4pm. That'll give us 2.5 hours to shoot around the city before sunset (6:10pm). Then we'll grab dinner and start the night shots. We'll likely wrap up close to 9pm and we can all head home.
Here's a first pass at the route.
