Installed mine last night. Putting that first hole in the hood almost brought me to tears. Happy with the results though..!

Thanks for making the leap (well the holes I mean ;o). I have a DIB convertible and am very interested in how this hood looks and fits.

Are you pretty please with how it turned out? Any down sides in your mind? Do the side edges blend well so as to not be too noticeable as a 'bolt on'? I've been thinking whatever gaps there are might be less noticeable on darker colors like DIB, black and even Magnetic. If you could take some shots out in the sunshine that would be great. A shot or two showing the least attractive angle(s) or closer up might just dispell my worried mind (you know, ten holes and all ;o)

It may just be me being biased but I cannot see any flaws with the hood scoop. The weather has been crap the last few days but I'll try to get some better shots. The drilling (to me at least) was a pain. But more so, getting the template laid down took a little time as well because it just wouldn't flatten out. Each angle looks pretty well in place. Has a factory look. Does not "appear" to be bolted on. My scoop didn't come with instructions but they were available on Roush's website and I also watch page video of the install in late model restorations site also. The video said it takes about an hour. I'll be perfectly honest, it took me a little while mainly because I didn't have a certain size drill bit I needed and THEN my cordless ran out of juice. Luckily enough my father-in-law has a professional grade plug in (and the thing is "all go". When it was on, it was on). That sped things up considerably. Long story short, I'm happy with it. And I've never attempted anything like that before. If you start, take your time and you'll be happy with the results..!

Very glad to hear your process. Like I'm sure you did, I'd spend a lot of time ;) lining up that template and smoothing it out as best possible. And probably stall at least 30 mins. before drilling the first hole! Would it help at all to use lots of painters tape on the template edges? Or did the inside areas still rise up with memory from it's folds?

I forget all the details on this scoop. Did you buy it prepainted? How much was it all together with shipping?

I used a lot of painters tape. The middle part did rise a little but not enough to get nervous about. Mine was pretty painted. $479 out the door.

$480 'feels' like a lot for this type of mod, but I like the look so much I will end up with a scoop. It seems like $500 is a popular price point for mods. Companies know we'll pay it! ;) The only thing that makes me wait is hopes of an aftermarket hood with a functional CAI scoop. That may be a pipe dream for my V6 due to the tighter hood to engine clearance than a GT or EB. V6's don't have room for a strut tower brace, so getting the underhood duct to fit above the throttle body intake might require a higher hood in front than the other models. That may be a no go due to the small market of V6's AND the added height a challenge design wise.

$500 CDC light bar... done!
$500 Windscreen... on the fence because I am able to mod my Sebring's to work functionally. Time will tell if ease of use and better looking fit will crack my wallet for yet another $500. I am sure there wil be more $500 add ons too! :lol:

Did you apply the one to the front?

No particular reason. Just decided not to do it. If there was one for the front, I didn't notice.

I must say I'm a little dissapointed that the black in the back is just decals. Until those pictures were posted I always thought it was cut out to let the air flow through. Won't it create drag since it's not open in the back?

it's not cut out in front or back. It is not an actual scoop. It is just for cosmetics... not that there is anything wrong with that, as Jerry Seinfeld would say. :lol:

Oh, I thought it was open in the front. That's what it looks like in the pics, guess it's the shadows.

Yeah, I agree. I thought the same thing. I do like the aethstetic of it but will wait a bit too see what else comes out. I love the Roush spoiler though.
