Kinda of sucks losing the strut tower bar. I am wondering if Steedas engine mounts will let us use a strut tower bar again? How close is the supercharger to the strut bar? Would 1/4", 1/2" or 3/4" make a difference? And does lowering the engine put stress on some other part? http://www.steeda.com/steeda-adjustable-heavy-duty-s550-mustang-engine-mounts-2015-gt-555-4039/ Also does the Roush S/C kit come with a cooler thermostat? I am not seeing it. :shrug:

I installed a roush for a customer and he insisted on the strut tower bar .. I used the steeda mounts at the lowest setting and got it to work .. The down side is the engine oil pan rests on the EPAS and causes TONS on NVH inside the cabin .. Shakes the rear view mirror it's so bad and the other thing is it looks like total crap and takes away from the supercharger...

The mounts have 3 settings you put the mounts on their lowest setting. Do you think it would work on the next setting or is it just to close?

Nope won't work I even had to shim the brace with washer and only got a few threads on the nuts.. I tried to talk the guy into not doing it but he had to have it...

The settings are 1/4 inch at a time it's a total 3/4 drop I believe

That guy sounds like me. Maybe there is another after market strut bar that will work?

In the end I agreed with "Sonic", it took away from the look of the supercharger. I'm by no means a professional driver but have done some track days before and after losing the brace. I couldn't tell the difference. I sold mine just to quit trying to figure something out. Lol

Well you are making me feel more comfortable about this. Do you know if the Roush S/C kit replaces the stock thermostat?

My was installed by Brenspeed, and they put a new one on. 170' degree according to paperwork. According to paper, it says so low because fan is controlled by head temp not water temp. It goes on to read that the head runs between 8 and 10 degrees hotter that water. Hence the 170 thermostat keeps water around 180/185.

I was bummed about the strut brace as well, till I found this:

It's cheap, bolts right on in 15 min., no fiddling with the motor mounts, hood etc.
My front end seems plenty tight.

I put the Gtrac brace on. That being said I was initially more worried about th K brace but honestly couldn't tell the difference even before the Gtrac. The front of this car sticks, there are issues in the rear.

I would not worry about losing the stock strut tower brace if you are concerned about the vehicles function. The stock brace is for cosmetics, doesn't serve a real purpose for structural integrity. The only time a strut tower brace will really offer any benefits is if it's tied into the firewall.
