Roof Trim Replacement

New to the forum. I have a question regarding the weather seal and trim above the side windows. I discovered that the pin holding the base of the moulding at the B pillar was broken. The pin is part of the moulding and can't be replaced separately. I know it's possible to glue it but at some point I will want to replace the part. I wonder if anyone knows whether I can keep the stainless insert that I have and only replace the rubber seal, or whether they're riveted together when they're installed at the factory. Sorry this is so long. I just couldn't figure out how to explain my question better.
