Car arrives in march all black performance pack. I want to do my best to protect it as much as possible from rocks and scratches. I like the clear bra from 3M but I don't like that the film stays on your car permanently. Does anybody know if there is a film that can take on and off? Put the film on for along road trip, take it off for a car show? thanks

Say if i just wanted to put painters tape allover the front bumper and hood for a road trip. would that work? Would the tape mess up the paint since its been sitting on the car for a long period of time in the sun on a black car?

Any film is not 100% protective. The file is like a screen protector on your iphone/smartphone. Trust me, stick it to a piece of wood and hurl a rock at it like off the highway and it will tear the plastic and dent the wood under. The paint under the film can still dent from a high impact and the plastic tear.

IMO, drive the car and if it need the front bumper repainted in 7-10 years then you didn't waste hundreds of dollars on some clear plastic (that has its downfalls- paint color differences under and rest, corners can peel, hard to get off, etc)

I bought black too, over magnetic, purely because black and white are the 2 easiest colors to touch up as they are non-metallic paints.

This is where my opinion falls, too. When/if my paint and or windshield needs to be touched up, I'll replace/repaint.

With that said, for one of my cars I purchased a removable bra that strapped on/off for under $100. I used that for long road trips. Not sure if they have these for the '15.
