So last night I curbed on of my PP wheels pretty badly. I was thinking about just getting a replacement from the stealership (anybody know how much it would be for the PP rear wheel?). But then I saw AM had a 10" version of the PP wheel, and I'd like to get wider tires in the back anyway. So my options are get a replacement from the factory, get 2 new 10" wheels and use the old tires until later, or get the 10" with new rubber.

I'd really like to do the last option but I have two concerns: mismatched front and rear tires, and the fact that the pony center caps wont transfer over to the AM wheels.

What do you guys think?

Ford dealer prices for a rear PP rim is 1150.00 with a 50 core charge, wtf is with the core charge? 1100 for front rim also with a 50 core charge.

It's the recycle price of aluminum. Sure it don't seem like much but add up all the aluminum wheels sold for replacements due to wrecks and it's a healthy chunk.

To be competitive in today's market and make it through bad times, those little things add up big time.

I thought $400 was laughable until I saw $1,150.

Can I get repaired? How much would it cost?

Also, if I did decide to just go ahead and get the 19x10"s and tires, is it bad to have different tires in the back than the front?

I curbed the front left 19" wheel on my Genesis Coupe Track five days after I bought the car (several years ago now). I had the wheel repaired for about $170 and the wheel was like brand new when I got it back. Here in DFW, there are quite a few local sources that perform this type of service. Many of them will come to your home or office and perform the repair on site. I would assume there are similar service providers in the greater Little Rock area.

As for the different tires, you should always replace tires in sets of two (both fronts or both rears) or sets of four. Both fronts should be identical, and both rears should be identical at all times. However, the front tires do not necessarily need to be the same type, brand, size, age, etc. as the rear tires.
