Just did this fix on my GT350 TA, ordered the new seat foam and turned out a lot better. This is the old seat foam.

New foam looks great, is there metal reenforcement in the foam in the 350 seats comparable to the GT Recaros shown above ?

The bottom internal seat frame looks just like the gt350 frame! I highly doubt the seat frame is damaged. I would order the new seat foam and give it a shot. Let me know if you need any tips! Good luck

This is what I thought immediately seeing the seat. I have a brother who is big and did that to the seat in his 1999 Trans Am.
I found a picture of the previous owner... it is possible:
