Has anyone removed that pesky rubber skirt underneath the splitter? I know some other models don't have it so I was wondering if I could just take it off. Wouldn't want it to create any wind noise.

It's there for aerodynamics / increased mpg. There's a Ford video out there that covers the different belly pans and their functions.

Found it - the air damn is covered starting around the 3:15 mark.

The air dam I believe? Yeah I think it's a benefit lots of people didn't want to put the sto n show license plate because it would affect the air dam or something like that (I hope I'm talking about the right thing) lol

how did you go about removing it? thx
Took mine off day 1. It's ugly as hell. It's held by some grooves in the plastic underpan and a few plastic push pins.

Interesting. Mine got ripped off literally 3 miles from the dealer when I picked it up. Maybe I should put it back on.

I liked mine, but I had a large chunk of semi tire take it off. You can only buy it as part of the entire pan, so it's $130. Anyone take it off and want to sell cheap and ship it out here to FLA? It is just a plastic/rubber extrusion, so it coils pretty easy...

i wonder if theres any ill effects removing the lower panel that you need to remove to change oil. my wrx had one of those and i took that off at first oil change and left it off..lol. im sure theres some aero dynamics to it as well as airflow in the engine bay...but what a pain lol.

Hey guys, I have the same problem, I hate it just as much. Once you remove the rubber air dam/skirt....will it fit the other more smoother curve that's made for the GT since it's got the same tabs to hold it in place? Is it long enough? Or the rubber skirt just completely rips apart?
