aka, passenger torture device...any remove the seats or just the backs to save weight, create more room for stuff and/or allow subwoofer and exhaust sounds more freedom?
I don't see anybody but small kids fitting back there and I'm fresh out of them ;)

^that looks nice but might be overkill for what I'm after. I would like the trunk pass thru to be easy for larger items I might haul. Not sure if I would need the bottom parts either. Depends on how it looks naked. :eyebulge:

There is also a Ford Performance delete that costs $700.
I had my rear seats out while doing sound deadening, and it looks really bad.

I drove around without rear seats for a few months while I thought about which kit I wanted (got the 350 delete), the back seats keep out A LOT of noise. Though with the 350 delete it was about the same with the seat in. Car was super loud with the Roush AB and the back stripped. Even stock I wouldn't just take the seats out and put nothing back.

I pulled the bottom one out since it's so easy, but haven't driven yet...keep the comments and tips coming.
I'm completely stock still.

Maybe I'll leave the bottom seat in for the floor noise, remove the seat backs and cover the pass thru with black fabric matching the carpet material using Velcro at the top to allow items to pass thru easily. I can also cover the seat bottom to protect it or get a plain donor so my CS leather remains nice.

If you get exhaust it will let a lot of sound in with just fabric on the back, outside of the carpet there is nothing else in the back. The bottoms being out will allow in a large amount of noise. If you need the ability to fit large items the cheap delete kit would your best bet as the backs seem to fold down and should keep the noise out I would guess. Honestly though in your case I would leave the rear seats in unless you plan on getting something like the 350 delete. Just not worth the few pounds unless you get a delete kit.

Not planning to replace the stock exhaust anytime soon, based on what I've read here.

I've been running with the back seats down for a few months now ... prefer the exhaust sound better but then again I've only got an axle-back exhaust.

Me too, but lowered seat backs get in the way of throwing stuff back there. I think they have to go...only 3 nuts/bolts away.

Okay, I nominated rear seat back removal as one of the best free mods. Took 10 minutes, freed up otherwise wasted space, lost some weight, can hear the stock exhaust and subwoofer much better and it looks just fine with seat bottoms still in. Saved hundreds if not thousands in upgraded exhaust and subwoofer systems.
