The light beneath the bumper by the mufflers what turns them on, cause mine aren't on or is it only when the car is in drive? Or are they reflectors?

This reminds me of when I told my wife that when you run over the little lights in the road, you break them and they no longer work. The proof is in your review mirror.

About a month later, she almost put our Explorer into the wall trying to avoid running over the lane reflectors...
