Me and my wife are looking at a couple of 2002 to 2005 boxers, we were looking at it as a second fun/project car, anyone know anything about these? Thanks

Check the vehicle history and see if the IMS has been upgraded.

They are a known issue on early Boxster engines.

Would it be good if it was, I see people talk about the rear mains leaking. Thanks

I had a 2005 Boxster S for a while, nice car for weekend trips etc. Not a lot of luggage space obviously, but enough to put a couple of duffle bags in for a trip.

Apart from a few convertible top issues (plastic connections breaking and saggy roof) the car was mechanically reliable. Drove very well, and the 6 cylinder had enough power to enjoy some canyon carving.
