Just got a new rxt McLeod clutch installed and custom tune at the same time. I know they are a reputable shop and they told me they would break the clutch in before the tune. well got a call at the end of the day saying on the last run the clutch slipped at high rpm one time only. They are saying it's not the first time they have seen this happen. Once everything cools down they will do a final run on monday and everything should be ok. Now the car has 602whp the clutch can hold 1000whp should I be worried and can a clutch get glazed from slipping one time?

Did they drive it normal for 500 miles before hammering on it?

I know they didn't drive it 500 miles driving on the highway don't break it though stop and go does.they said it was broken in and they definitely do good work. just don't want to pick the car up blind. Like if they tried to pull a fast one on me and come up with some dumb reason I want to have something intelligent to say.

I agree they said they have it covered.I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or heard of this happening.I'm think information if I drive the car normal for 500 hundred miles maybe it will be fine. But if it slipping one time will definitely ruin it know matter what then I'm not going to waste my time driving 500 miles they will just have to fix it.

Well then thats part of your problem. The stock flywheels surface doesnt make full contact with the rxt clutch.......

So, you have the stock flywheel? You realize that while you can use the stock flywheel but it doesn't make full contact with the disc on the rxt clutch.

I know I looked in to that and at the power I'm making it shouldn't matter from the research I have done.

it's literally 5%of the surface not touching I'm 400whp under capacity it's not the flywheel.

I'm making over 700rwhp with the same clutch and it has never once slipped. I'm using the Mcleod flywheel and did a 500 mile breakin. Honestly, it sounds like your research failed you.

To spend that kind of money, have everything apart, and not put a new matched flywheel in??? I don't get it.

Did you my first post I didn't break it in 500 miles the shops said they would take care of it. They didn't drive the car 500 miles. I'm not asking if the clutch will work with the stock flywheel I'm ask if a clutch can get glazed from it slipping one time. Because I don't want them to make up some BS. Because I think that they didn't break it in right.

I did read your first post. First off if you choose to leave the stock flywheel in it, it still needs to be resurfaced to allow the new clutch to seat in properly. Did that happen? If not I would yank it back out. If you yank it back out put a new lightened flywheel in that fits the disc. Go to the 3:20 mark on this video and hear the Lethal boys explain it. Not trying to be a dick....just want you enjoy that boosted power and making it last.
