So I started the car up and went to put the windows down this morning. Drivers side went down fine, passenger didn't move at all. Played with the switch up and down a couple times and it then went down and back up a couple times....ok maybe a connection is just loose, I'll find out later. The window then rolls up on its own and the passenger window switch starts smoking! I took the door apart as fast as I could to unplug the switch and see if anything else was an issue. I tried the drivers side window switch for the passenger window again and it's still not functioning correctly, keeps stuttering up and down with no automatic up/down working. Anybody with some advice what to check? I won't be able to get it to the dealer till tomorrow.

Still hoping someone can help on this. I took it to the dealership who tried replacing the switch, which started smoking again. Now they aren't willing to try anything further until I remove ALL of the aftermarket speakers, amps and wiring and put it all back to stock, which is just a BS excuse. I've tried replacing the door wiring harness, thinking something may have rubbed against a wire and shorted it out, which didn't help the issue at all. Now, the drivers side switch will not work at all on the passenger window either. The window will drop down and go up when the door is opened/closed fine, which the dealership is telling me means the motor is good. However, I'm getting 12V going into the passenger window switch from the wire that controls the window down function that I believe comes from the window motor, causing the switch to burn up. Any chance someone has an electrical diagram for the power windows? Older models had the power window switches wired in series for the passenger window, however I'm not sure thats the case with this. I'm really getting frustrated with this whole situation. :frusty:
