...Are they just zombies who don't think, or is there some underlying reason why someone would do that? Maybe they wanted to look at the car, but dude ... please park a spot or two away and look.
Hey! this Zombie would park at least one spot away. :D

Most of the time people respect it when I park way out in the lot, as long as there are plenty of spaces, but every so often you get that person who thinks its funny to park next to my car with some sort of meh-mobile or beater.

I have a strategy every time I park it, calculating which space would be best, where are the corner spots, anything next to a yellowed off area, etc etc. :)

It is nice leaving the car at the top of the lot at a store, and coming back to see another well kept pony next to it.

People are spiteful creatures. They see your shiny new toy and out of jealousy they want to do what they can within legal limits (sometimes illegal) to take away from the experience of having a brand new car.

I have a co-worker who's car was banged on the driver side rear in a parking lot somewhere (took her awhile to notice it she says). So she doesn't exactly know when her car was hit but it was.

When I finally got my car I told myself I'd do my best to park away from people within reason so basically a spot or two away from everyone else and also that spot had to be blocked on one side by something where people couldn't park. This would at least offer up some sort of protection.

I found the perfect spot at work and started parking there. No one ever bothered to park in this spot due to the walking distance from the spot to the main door.

Maybe after about two weeks I come to work one day and find the woman I mentioned earlier's banged up car in that spot. I thought maybe it was because there were no spots. Next day same thing until after about two weeks I finally asked her about it and she said she never realized what a good spot it was until I started parking there and first comr first serve.

To this day we both are having a subliminal war over this parking spot lol. If she gets it before me I just park my car elsewhere where the spot is blocked on one side. If I get the spot first she parks RIGHT NEXT to me even though there are a plethora of open spots.

People man lol. But hey that's life brotha.

It makes me laugh to go through so much to keep my car's finish in tip top shape. I come home and the damn neighbor has her two years playing kickball and catch and riding their toys all over my driveway. I almost ran one over because I didn't see the little guy while I was parking. They usually clear the driveway to let me park then when I go inside they start playing right next to my car.

I haven't said much to the neighbor but she has joked about my car being my trophy so she understands how much it means to me. I haven't had the convo with her because she has a horrible attitude and I'd rather not argue with her, her two year olds, and her ghetto boyfriend. I don't want to have to calling the cops.

Stay strong out there my fellow Mustang brothas and sistas.

I always wonder about these kinds of post, I mean aren't there a lot of other 35-45k cars in parking lots, you yourself might not even be aware of let alone non car enthusiasts. Plus the Mustang isn't really all that special in the US right ?

To many people its still just a car, especially in the US.
I think a lot of people just think it's expected that when they trade their car in, it'll have 6 or 8 nice door dings, scuffed bumpers, a cracked tail light, coffee stains on the carpet, and a couple cigarette burns on the seat.

I'm not one of those people. I chose end spots even when I was driving a sub-$20k car. I like to take care of my stuff and keep it looking new. I guess it's a pride thing, as well as financial.

We all work hard to afford nice(er) things in life. It has nothing to do with you specifically man, i feel the same. It's your hard-earned money that you spend on said vehicle. Whether it be a $5k one or a $40k one. It still took you time and effort to achieve such situation. Nobody wants another human, being an idiot and trying to diminish that. Some people just get their kicks in life out of trying to frustrate other people. I see it all of the time. It applies to more situations other than the ones in this thread.

It kinda irks me when some douchebag parks next to me, but as long as its not a mom in a minivan than its all gravy.

Moms in minivans are the most dangerous drivers on the road, hands down.
Let us not forget youngish guys in lifted pickup trucks.:headbonk:

I parked my car and went to get some ice cream with the wife. When I came out there was a car parked about 10" from my door. I was like WTF? I was pissed. I even told my wife I'm going to wait to see who comes to the car and give them some shit. I stood by my door just waiting for someone to walk my way. A young lady started walking toward me and when she saw my face she totally looked the other way and walked away. I told my wife, "I KNOW IT'S HER". My wife didn't believe me so we drove away but I kept my eye on the lady from a distance. Sure enough as soon as I left she walked to her car. I KNEW IT! There was no damage but really?!?! You have to be an ass and leave your car that way.

Wish I could do this to that person's car.

Or even worse:

Anyone with a new license who just bought an old BMW 328 or 335, or is spoiled enough to get a brand new M-series.

20 year old in BMW M4 = your engine is now a tree huger.

I was thinking of making up some notes that I could leave on the windshield of a fellow nice car enthusiast if I had to park right next to them out in no man's land. It would say something like, "Hi, I parked next to you because you have a nice car and you obviously care about it like I do mine. Don't worry, I was very careful not to ding your car. Happy motoring!".

That way, if he came out and saw a car right next to his out in no man's land he would understand why, and not think I was just some kind of an a-hole for parking next to him.
Heh, I know that if I was that guy and I found a note like that on my windshield, I'd get a good chuckle and think good about it. And if I did the note thing, I'd definitely leave it on any Lamborghini I'd have the fortune of parking next to. Seeing those wonderful works of automotive art always makes my day :hail:

And personally, if someone with even a barely butt-functional car was to park next to me in no-man's land, it wouldn't irk me in the least as long as they parked right. Most of time, I could care less what the car as long as they parked RIGHT! That's what it really boils down to at the end of the day.

I spy an orange jacket. So he's probably checking the rear axle so he can get it towed away safely.

I'd rather be behind a posse of young guys in lifted trucks that a single mom in a minivan. :D They're just maniacs. At least the young guys will take some pride in their vehicles and don't want to really damage them. I've seen moms back into shit and just keep on goin.

agreed on the mom in minivan comments. if i had to choose one thing i'd avoid in the parking lot, it's the minivan with the family stick figures on it.

I like that they willingly display to the world how many dogs/cats/kids they have. Makes them easier to avoid. :tsk: Its almost like an unspoken favor lol.
