For the past couple of days I had felt like my engine was running a little weaker but thought it might just be me. Then I noticed that the coolant temps were climbing really slowly and would rarely get over 160 or so degrees, even after driving for a while. Tonight the CEL finally came on and according to my NGauge, it's showing P0128 indicating a problem with the thermostat. I have a Reische unit and a Lund tune.
My question is - how bad is this for my engine? Can I put the stock thermostat back in until I can get the Reische one replaced while still running the Lund tune? I can't just run the stock tune since I have a PMAS intake and I'd rather not have to swap the whole stock airbox back in. What do you guys recommend?
