I ordered and got my drag radials today .. 245/40/18s M/T ET streets 2.. I had already got an extra set of stock 18 inch rims to match my stock rims so I could just swap them out for track days .. Problem is these are a lot shorter than my stock tires ..My stockers are 27 tall and the M/T are listed as 26 tall but the are really 25 tall .. I felt they would be close but they are not close at all ... I have 3.55 gears so the shorter tire might help launch the car better ..But I worried they might not hook well because of the very small side wall of the tire .. Having a larger side wall would help take the hit of a harder leave than a smaller side wall .. This tire is a new size from M/T so it had no reviews on how they worked ... Tread is a full 10 inches so it should have plenty of rubber on the road to hook ..In order to get a taller tire I have to jump up to 315/45/18 M/T and I don't think it will fit well on my 8 by 18 rims seeing that M/T wants at least a 9.00 inch rim for the 315/40 tire..

Have any of you guys used this new 245/40/18 tire ? If so how did the tire work ? ..

Dang it ..... Wow I just checked my door sticker ..Axle code GG ... All this time I was thinking I had 3.55 but I have 3.31s !!!

Now that I think back I test drove a 3.55 car before buying mine and it did seem to run stronger than the one a took home .. So I guess the shorter tire might be better...:headbonk:

The short tire will not hurt you with a 3.31 axle ratio. If you don't mind the look of a short tire. I would get as close to a 28 as you can.

I successfully ran M&H Racemaster 275/50/18's on factory 18x8" rims. A 9" wide wheel would have been ideal, but a 275 will work on an 8" rim.

The 25" tall M/T ET Streets will help with the effective gearing, but you really want more contact patch and that takes a much taller tire (28" seems to be the favorite height in the Coyote crowd).
