I used to change the oil myself but considering that Ford dealers have the "works" special with an oil/filter change plus tire rotation for $39.95 it almost makes sense to go with them, because I definitely will need to have the tires rotated and I'd probably wind up paying that much for doing the oil myself then taking it to a tire shop for rotation.

By the looks of that picture I'm betting that changing the filter is going to be a messy job.

Scary to me is a dealer tech couldn't figure out the filter was behind that little flap. Took me about 1 min on my back under the thing on ramps to figure it out.

Know my PP GT says 5w 20 on the cap. It wasn't what went in it, though. That is one hell of a thin oil.

I also used cardboard placed under the filter to keep the runoff oil from making a mess and running into and all over the tray.

Thin oil doesn't lubricate less. A thicker oil may not make it into all the passageways that it's needed.

No tire rotation on the PP staggered tires, am I right in saying I was told 8 quarts of oil for the 5.0?

What weight did you go with? Nothing wrong with 5w-20 unless you are doing done serious racing of sorts.

5w20 for street and 5w30 for track is what I will be running. The tolerances and engine passageways are smaller in the 2015 so a thinner oil is recommended.
