The Boss exhaust is definitely nirvana... I removed the side plates and it sounds good all the time, love the decel growl & pop!

The Camaro isn't that bad to see out of... well I'm used to it. Parking isn't bad neither especially with the rear cam & back up sensors. IMHO I think it's over exaggerated on how the vision is severely impaired... heck I love the low roofline / high belt line. I'ved always liked the Camaro 5th gen styling since it was released particularly the broad quarters & stance.

I agree with you on the Camaro. I actually think I like the seating position and interior comfort in the Camaro more than the Mustang and as far as the common complaint about rear visibility, those people obviously never drove a 3rd gen Camaro. Besides if you've passed something and it's behind you in your rear view mirror then it's staying there. (unless it's a Mustang of course). I actually nearly bought one in early 2011 but went with the 5.0 instead.

The camaro visibility IS bad, and not just the rear, it's the thick roof pillars and low roofline. Maybe compared to a 3rd gen camaro it's not so bad, but compared to a stang, it's bad. Some people like it after they get used to it, but i drove one for a week and couldn't take it. To me, it detracted from the driving experience, felt like i couldn't connect to the road.

It's not for everyone, obviously. And yes compared to the current S197... a noticeable difference in visbility. But many still buy them... Camaro sales > Mustang sales. And many connect to the road just fine, just like many still don't like the visibility compared to other brands. My Boss is sometimes challenging when backing up due to non-availabilty of backup cam & sensors on the '12 Boss... so it has its own handicap so to speak. I still think the Camaro's poor visibility is way over exaggerated and I own both... but my opinion... and 12 months (and counting) worth of ownership feedback. ;)

Camaro has pushed the envelope in many ways with its powertrain, suspension and other tech. Its sales certainly speak for itself but I think those sales are in spite of the visibility. More people than not find it to be an issue I think, but I'm also used to driving convertibles so it's obviously apples and oranges.

Regardless, that's an eye of the beholder type thing, and with the z/28 it's a virtual non issue since it's not meant to be DD.

The new Z/28 certainly pushes that envelope even higher... we'll see how the blue oval engineers respond. Robust- 427cid, mechanicals, suspension and brakes to die for... engineered for the track and backed w/ a factory warranty. It won't be cheap at all to obtain & maintain but what a package.

Yeah I drove a 350z for a while and after swore I would never get a car that difficult to see out of. I was always opening the sky window bc I felt so closed off in there.

Bossing, I know what u mean by kinda liking the feeling of hiding out in there bc of the low profile, but so is wearing sunglasses and both can be a hazard for driving at night! :(

While I dont agree on the visibility, I agree with MPH on the interior comfort though. It's way better than the GT or even the GT500. Ford really needs to improve the quality of the materials they use for the interior... esp if they wanna get them fancy europeans interested.

My biggest complaint with the Camaro interior was the cheap painted plastic that wrapped all the way around you from the door panels and across the dash, it looks like on the Z-28 those panels are now leather covered. Much nicer look.

Unimpressed. GM says the Z/28 is 300 pounds less than the ZL1 and the ZL1 weighs 4100+ pounds so that makes the Z/28 3800+ pounds. That's still quite a pig. All the muscle cars need to go on a diet IMO.

Guys, the current (5th gen) camaro platform has a full 4 years headstart over the 5th gen mustang... 2009 vs. 2005. Don't underestimate this. Obviously certain structural changes and technology is not possible without a new platform. Give Ford another year... I suspect those Camaro gains over the Mustang will be short-lived. All indications show that Ford has delayed making any big updates to the last few models so that it could pour it all into the 6th gen.

The 5th gen Camaro sits on a GM Zeta platform and it's to blame... a full size sedan-based global rwd porky pig foundation.

I immediately feel the difference when going from the Mustang to the Camaro and vice-versa.

Even with its next gen, I doubt we see anything close in weight to the 6G stang, which should get even lighter. Of course, the parity in performance should continue given camaro's superior (for now) powertrain. But that will change too. The mustang's power options are getting long in the tooth which means it's time for a big upgrade.

Looks cool and all but GM needed 427 cu in to hit 500hp while the Boss needs just 302 cu in to get to 444hp. :ford: And how much does the air conditioning unit acutally save in weight.
