Thanks to all who attended the last meet! It was very successful in bringing our host great business! We're fortunate enough to have another opportunity to help other local small business owners again by moving our venue to another location that can accommodate us better. There will be great food, music, ample parking and good company. The new location is on Point Loma at the Classics Malt Shop

3625 Midway Dr.
San Diego, CA 92110

We will be started at 12pm and going until 4pm on 3/20. I've widened the time frame because the shop is small and can only accommodate so many people at one time. You may choose to enjoy the meet first eat later or vice versa. The owner is usually closed on Sunday's, but Jeff Attiq as agreed to open shop just for us. I understand most of you are tied into other cruises but this is an event done to give back to our community. We've brought a lot of business for hooters and plan to help other local businesses in the future.

Thank you all for your time, support and great passion for what we do! See you there

By making these events specifically on well-established cruise days - and now even cutting into the times (when cruises take place in San Diego) it is making it very difficult for those who have been enjoying the cruises for some or all of the past 6 months. People are now highly inconvenienced and are forced to make a choice. I feel some would really enjoy participating in BOTH activities. As it now stands, it is not even possible. I am not sure what happened with having the Hooters events on Wednesdays; it worked perfectly for those who wanted to participate in both activities.

This time, not only is an event purposely scheduled on a cruise date, a shop owner is forced to open on his day off to accommodate everyone.

To use politics (giving back to the community) as part of an invitation to these events is moot; we give back to small businesses in CA when we stop for lunch.

I feel this has become some strange competition that is not supposed to exist. We are all passionate about our cars. The cruises are all-inclusive; the other events should be as well. Scheduling other events at the same time is divisive for our community. And it isn't about quantity, it's all about quality: It doesn't matter whether 10 or 100 people want to cruise; it just looks really nice on the roads when there is a long line of us.

I sincerely hope a regular event day is reconsidered, perhaps Saturdays. Everyone should have a chance to enjoy their cars as much as possible, whenever they feel like it. Your absence at the cruises is noticed!

The whole point is to have a good time. The changes that have been made to the regularly scheduled event (Wednesday Hooters events) is unfair to the entire community.

As a supporter of tonys meets I'm just curious about some of your comments. What makes you think this was "purposely scheduled" to compete against another cruise? Is it on purpose or maybe just because like every other meet that happens on the weekends, it's the most convenient time to accommodate most people that is with people being off work or people having longer drives with less traffic? As far as the business owner do you think he actually feels "forced" to open his business up on his day off? Or is he thinking that maybe he can make more money and possibly add an awesome event on a monthly basis that will hopefully yield him more profit oppose to just being closed every sunday? If that were the case then as a business owner my biggest marketing scheme for this event would be to ask the event planner to name drop my business and promote my business as a way to reassure myself i will make a worthy profit. Def not "politics" just business. The fact that there is several meets/cruises on the same day in my opinion doesn't mean everyone is in competition? I agree it'd be cool to have everyone coordinate with one another but there's only 2 days in a weekend so that's completely unrealistic. If this was an attempt to try and coordinate a date change then it def wasn't the best way to go about it. This whole thing kind of makes Tony look like the bad guy. If he really did "purposely" do this then F him. But I highly doubt it. If 2 seperate days cannot be correctly and respectfully coordinated then it seems like choices will have to be made. Just my 2 cents.

I also support Tony, but I think you're taking what klumpikat is saying the wrong way. She's just saying that maybe it would be better for everyone to have their monthly events on different days of the weekend allowing everyone to be able to participate in all of them. As a member of this community, I would appreciate that greatly.

The first Tony meet I ever went to was in February at Hooters. I drove from Los Angeles with the Alpha Coyotes. It was a great drive and a wonderful meet 100%. I do not regret going at all. Simultaneously, there was a M6G cruise in Malibu that same day and time with a similar turn out (I heard over 60 Mustangs showed up). Again, I do not regret going to Tony's meet, but I did wish I could've also gone to the M6G cruise.

Different days would've made it possible - but I had to make a choice, the way klumpikat had to make hers and the way you'll proceed to make yours.

You mentioned that there were only two days in a weekend? It's a good thing then that there are 4 weekends in a month. Besides, it was just a suggestion - it doesn't mean Tony has to change his meet day or the cruise organizers have to change theirs.

I was also a part of that cruise to SD with the alpha coyotes. I totally agree that would be pretty cool. Maybe it was just the way these suggestions or facts were brought up. Like I said as an outsider looking in its very easy to misunderstand what is trying to be said here. Like I said if two different events can't be properly coordinated then choices will have to be made. It's easy to misinterpret something when it's in writing that's why I said maybe there should have been a better way to communicate that suggestion.

I think what klumpikat was trying to say is this....The Mustang 6g meet has been scheduled on this day for weeks at least, and is widely promoted here. The fact that Tony scheduled his meet on the same day gives the appearance of "competition" when there isn't a need for it. When you have had weeks to a month to schedule a meet, maybe pick a Sunday (if that's the day you like) that hasn't already been taken by another meet, so everyone can decide if they want to go instead of which to go to....I don't think it was meant in an accusatory way, I just think maybe it wasn't thought about...

Yeah, that I agree with. There's always a better way to do something or in this case say something and you're right. Text is so easy to misinterpret especially today. But I think now that the suggestion is out there for the forum to read, maybe it's a good time to see what others also think about the clashing days?

Instead of having to pick only one monthly event to go to, wouldn't you like to be able to go to both?

Thank you all who came out to SD's march event!! Your participation and passion for cars went a long way in helping Jeff attic's restaurant "Classic's Malt Shop"
With delicious food, positive energy and beautiful cars, you guys made this day Fantastic!!!

With that said, the large amount of sales was able to help top off Alan Odaravla with a 10% donation from Jeff. Alan has gone through some life changing events and can no longer drive his Mustang. With the help of many people from our community and many others, Alan will be able to retro fit his mustang to accommodate his needs and finally drive again.

Our Next Meet will be at CCC MotorSports. Another family owned business will be catering the event with their taco truck so that we don't go hungry while getting our cars dyno'd!! CCC motorsport will be measuring the power on your ponies and we will also be donating a percentage of that to a local boy with Brain cancer.

More details to follow after I sit down with both owners to discuss details on time and cost for dynos. To further elaborate my intentions, i can care less about who's feelings are hurt. I did not schedule my event on this day to compete with anyone. I did it to help local business owners and people. I gave more than enough time to arrange the meets and this is what works best for those who enjoy my meets. This date was already specified in another thread when someone asked when mine will take place. The thread itself was made two weeks prior but as stated, I did say when. I do not care for this type of energy from people who choose to find the negatives in the positives that we do for our fellow community members.
