Hey guys so I’ve been boosted for about a month now with a vmp gen 3 and I’ve just now got the chance to really start driving the car. I noticed 2 things. First is if I make a little pull or accelerate into boost and then let off it faceplants Which I understand. But if I get on the throttle to just continue driving normal it like accelerates kind of hard even tho I’m not touching the gas. It’s almost like it’s giving itself throttle. And the other thing I wanted to know if it was normal is the iat shown on the nguage. I know it’s not accurate but it was 32 degrees out and in stop and go traffic it showed 102 degrees. Seemed kind of high.

Hey Anesti, both are normal, you're dealing with a blower so when you even touch the throttle again after being at high rpms and finally coming down, its still going to try and make boost at that rpm. In regards to the iats, you will usually see a little higher iat in traffic just because they do tend to produce a little more heat that a na car. So no issue there. If you need any help or have any general questions, hit me up, I'm here to help. https://www.lethalperformance.com/

Yes, the IAT (if it's measured after the intercooler) is normal. The intake air is passing through a huge aluminum heat sink bolted onto the top of the motor. Check your cylinder head temp so see what your dealing with. The lower intake isn't that hot.but it's not ambient air cold, either.

About the throttle thingy.....I'm just now learning to deal with the quirks of an electric throttle after 10 years with a Whipple boosted Terminator (with old fashioned cable throttle). Stephen's answer isn't quite on target. In a mechanical throttle car, when you get off the gas, there will be vacuum in the lower intake no matter what the RPM, because almost no air gets into the blower intake. You will decelerate. So, you're not making boost because of the RPM, you're making boost because the PCM doesn't close the throttle. Not sure what tune you have, but VMP's tune does some crazy throttle stuff. It "hunts" at about 1/4 to 1/3 way in, trying to match the TB opening with the gas pedal position and oscillating open and closed a bit. The car bucks and surges. Trying to get it tuned out, but no success yet.
