Hello,
Here is my new leather shift boot and ebrake installed. And my new Shifter knob from CJ Pony Parts with reverse lockout adapter.
Both were ordered from Americanmuscle.com. That being said, while I'm pleased they match my custom 100% leather seats (from leatherseats.com, they are a much darker <cardinal> red with perforated inserts, then the crap iphone camera is capable of showing, the bottom photo has a peek of them more the real color),
But I would not recommend these parts.
The shift boot seems to be slightly too small. There were ZERO directions given in either package, and it is not intuitive. I contacted AM.com, and they didnt answer (again, this is like the 3rd time, their facebook page is useless for communication which is annoying, dont have a page then!). The stitches at the top also split slightly upon first install, so I had to pull the boot up a little more then planned and re-attach with a zip tie. I hope it'll last and not split further.
I also broke the plastic bezel, and one of the little tabs on the lockout, I'll have to replace when I feel like pulling the thing apart again. I think I could have avoided these problems if they had provided instructions and warnings. I really cannot understand not providing instructions, I'm pretty handy but it was crazy trying to figure it out until I found Redline. Same with the ebrake , no instructions, no answers, but it was slightly easier to figure out and less risk of breaking stuff.
I got the shift boot installation instructions from Redline.com. I also asked a question, and they answered immediately. So I went ahead and ordered the Armrest cover from them, as the one I ordered last month from AM.com, had no instructions, and so I winged it and installed it with glue, and it looked like absolute shit! I wish I had ordered the shift boot and ebrake from them too. Live and learn.
The CJ knob I'm very pleased with . It just feels good. A little higher then stock, but it looks cool I think. I might order another just to change out when the mood strikes. They provided very detailed instructions, and there are two little tricks to make it function properly, and I did not know until I went back and watched the video they made, and it functioned perfectly then.. While AM.com's site is better, CJ is far superior with after sale support, IMO.
Going to do the side panels and replace with matching leather.
