MY 2015, 2016, 2017 how does it work ?

The EU is currently still waiting on the delivery of the 2015 Mustang while in the US the 2016 is on order for a few weeks already.

The 2015 EU Mustang was already behind on some features mainly technology, but with the 2016 Mustang changes announced how will that transfer over the EU Mustang do you guys think ? Will the EU and US Mustang grow further and further apart over the years ?

There are so many questions even the EU dealers cannot seem to answer these :(

My order form states MY2016 but as I understand it the US 2016 has some new colours and Sync3.

My MY2016 is exactly the same as the 2015 but hoping that the quality issues have been sorted

Sync2 is relatively new to Europe and I understand that the US Sync3 is not compatible with our data systems.

Basically except for Sync3 and a slightly different shade of black there are no known differences between MY 2015 and 2016. The major changes for the US market are new options like Black Out package, California Special edition, Pony package and black roof. It remains to be seen if any of those will make it to the European market, as we have rather different equipment and option levels here to begin with.

Regarding Sync3 adoption,, that might take a while. The system needs to be localized first, which is quite a handful with all the different languages we speak here. I wouldn't be surprised if it take until somewhere in 2017 before we start seeing Sync3 here as I would suspect Ford to combine the introduction of Sync3 in the European market with the incorporation of emergency assistance (eCall) functionality (mandatory as of 2018).
