I guess it's time to start a build thread. Never really decided to do a build but it seems one is inevitable. I expect progress will be slow compared to many but here goes.

So it's been a slow start for the mods on this car. I've been busy either driving or working pretty much since I got it last year.

I'm just over 24k miles right now and the gloves are coming off. Where to begin.

Here it is at the dealer upon delivery January 13th, 2015. (coincidentally my birthday. Happy birthday to me.)

2 days later I picked it up. Why 2 days? Scheduling. A rough 2 days of waiting.

At 1200 miles I installed a Mishimoto catch can. It was a little snowy that day.

And another.

Had to drive down this to get in the garage. Up to get back out. On P-Zeros no less. It sucked.

I decided to put on some Eibach springs. I ordered them and then waited till they were released. (EB/V6 specific Pro-Kit).

Comparison.

Front done.

All done.

to be continued...

Since April I really haven't done much to the EB. Spent almost all summer out of town with work. Then I had to take a motorcycle trip as I hadn't been able ride in months due to my schedule and it was killing me so October and November were dedicated to getting ready for the trip, shipping my bike to Vegas, and then actually going out there and ride.

The RC and the EB.

I had tuned the EB back in late September. I went with Livernois. I'm not disappointed and enjoyed driving my now faster car even more. After it was tuned I made the decision to improve a couple things and in October I ordered an ATM intercooler. Sadly they have had some issues in production and I am still waiting. So that update will have to be later.

In the meantime I decided to add a downpipe. I went with a cheap one off eBay as I intend to modify it at a later date and didn't want to drop much on it since I will be cutting it up eventually.

Sadly Ford has of late not taken much interest in using anti-seize on their exhaust hardware. and so while I was removing the nut from the exhaust stud it galled on me about 2/3rds of the way off and just spun. I had the exact same thing happen on my 07' GT the very first time i removed the Cat pipes. Wouldn't go on or off. Damn. Here it is in its stuck position.

The other problem was that now my stock downpipe was loose. So basically it was undrivable like that. As it was about 6:30pm on a Thursday and I had to be at work in the morning I had to make some decisions. So I pulled this out of storage.

I then began welding the nut to the stud so I could back it out of the turbo. Yes it's ugly. I think all the PB blaster I'd put on the studs caused it to burn a little funny.

So now I'm backing the stud out of the turbo and the stud breaks where the galled nut is at. This is what I'm left with.

So that is in a way a good thing as I still have a stud, sort of, to work with. It's definitely way to late at this point to get any parts so something is better than nothing. I got out my 10 x 1.5mm die and attempted to get the threads restarted in the section of the stud where they were missing. I was moderately successful in that I didn't completely ruin the rest of the good threads. I managed to get it re-threaded but missed the exact center of the threads by a small amount. Regardless it could get a nut on there so at least I was back in business. A new stud will be ordered this week and fixed properly.

I continued on with the install as it was getting later and well I wanted to be done so I could get some sleep.

I didn't get any pictures after that as my focus was just to get done and go for a test drive but I'm sure you get the idea of the rest of it.

So i'm looking through some threads here a couple weeks back and notice Mishimoto is having a one day sale.
I've not been a fan of the plastic charge pipe and the rubber cold pipe that came stock on the car so I decided to get their charge pipe kit.

Here it is in the box.

First I removed the air box and then the cold inlet pipe.

Throttle body looks great at 24k.

Next I installed the new cold air pipe. There's a ton of room to work on these cars which is nice.

Charge pipe going in.

And the top side. I had to reuse the stock clamp at the turbo as the one in the Mishimoto kit was too small.

And here it is finished.

So really that's all I've done for now.

Next mods will be fabbing my own exhaust out of 304 stainless and installing my Intercooler whenever it gets here.
So yea pretty plain and basic so far. But I'm enjoying it nonetheless.

Great journal! Nice to see a couple of our products making it onto your EBM. Thanks for the feedback and review.

Sounds like you may have received an incorrect clamp within the intercooler pipe kit. If you would like us to send our the correct piece, shoot us a PM.

Enjoy the car!
