Then I'll level with you then. My 944 gets attention from a lot of people, especially when I'm driving through more affluent areas, because people see a 19 year-old driving a clean, 30 year-old Porsche. It's much more of an attention-getter compared to my ST, which only got attention once I dropped in a new Catback exhaust. We are talking about american mass produced cars, not 200k exotics. My Merc gets attention but mainly from gold digging women.
I remember one time when I parked it, a man in his 40-50s stopped me to say that he was shocked that I was driving such a nice example, and that he used to have one way back when and it brought back good memories.
But I see your point.

There are certain cars (common or not) that I always find myself willing to break my neck over. A good looking car is a good looking car.
