We are talking about american mass produced cars, not 200k exotics. My Merc gets attention but mainly from gold digging women.
Then I'll level with you then. My 944 gets attention from a lot of people, especially when I'm driving through more affluent areas, because people see a 19 year-old driving a clean, 30 year-old Porsche. It's much more of an attention-getter compared to my ST, which only got attention once I dropped in a new Catback exhaust.

I remember one time when I parked it, a man in his 40-50s stopped me to say that he was shocked that I was driving such a nice example, and that he used to have one way back when and it brought back good memories. :)

But I see your point.

There is some truth to that, but it is just a better looking car - BY A LONG SHOT - than the Mustang has been for a long time. Like 20 years. I don't know about you but I still turn my head and stare at cars like Audi A5's and Infiniti G37s, and while those are somewhat less common than Mustangs obviously, a good-looking car is a head turner no matter how long it's been around. The new Mustang definitely fits into that category, while the previous ones did not.

Mobbed at gas stations forever? No, but this car will get looks for a good long while.
Agreed! There are certain cars (common or not) that I always find myself willing to break my neck over. A good looking car is a good looking car.

Lucky me! When my car arrives in December, you guys showed around your cars and I am the one who can drive it home with not to get any attention at all. :D

Wait a moment! I am in Edmonton the first who gets his S550 (I hope). Damn! :help:

I honestly considered with my wife if the dealership should not deliver the car on the tow truck because we are getting the S550 with the summer tires on the PP. But, knocking on wood, no snow at all here. (with my luck, it's snows like the hell is freezing on delivery day) :eyebulge:

So yeah - you are not far off!

But it's only gonna last for so long. :(
It's a Mustang, a damn good looking one for sure; but in a year when we'll all be seeing them at just about every single corner of every street, they'll all just be Mustangs
That´s one great thing about Europe. Mustangs will always be a rarity and stand out next to all those boring Golfs and Audi A4´s :D
And Mustang drivers, at least in Germany, always tell stories about people approaching them asking how the hell they can afford such a car. People over here think it costs 100k € or something, LOL! It´s considered on the same level as super sport cars...

Why would you want attention all the time? I get it. Can't get gas or walk into a store without someone making a comment about the Hummer. Most of the time it is a lot of fun, but much of the time you have to smile and nod about whatever wrong fact someone is telling you. "That thing floats, right?" "It's bulletproof"

I can't tell you how many times I've heard that you can buy HMMWV's from the government. You just can't; no matter how much I explain why you can't I'm still the wrong one.

A huge reason why I am getting a Mustang is because they blend in so well and soon enough you would be able to throw a rock without hitting one. I'll always have the H1 if I need attention. :D

Not saying the Mustang will come with those comments, but I'm sure there'd be plenty of "my uncle has one of those that's twin turbo & supercharged."

What do you mean you can't buy an H1 from the government? Get out of here! :headbonk:

I was stationed in Germany (Hanau/Erlensee area) in the late 80's thru the fall of 1992. There was a Mustang club called the "Pony Express" that was open to any and all Mustang enthusiasts at the Hanau Rod and Gun club. I was amazed at the variety of Mustangs that appeared at the club to include 1st generation Pony cars owned by both German and American enthusiasts. Our road rallys and outings caused a lot of attention as we traversed all over Germany...great times! :clap2:
