I've got the MMR 1000hp rotating assembly and a bare Gen 2 block that I'm about to send over to the machine shop to prep and assemble, but with so many people making 1000whp with a stock Gen 2 block, is it worth spending the money on using the MMR assembly or would it be more cost effective to just sell it and get a stock Gen 2 short block?

I plan on a sleeved block down the road, but planning on a completely different rotating assembly for that.

My opinion would be to sell the MMR block and build your gen 2 block. For the price you paid for the MMR you can get a much better gen 2 setup (stronger rods and pistions) and likely will save a bit of money. 1000whp on a stock short block is a ticking timebomb. Typically 650-700whp is considered safe for stock components. Pistions, rods, and oil pump gears are the weak links.
