I was pretty excited to order the MMD V Series spoiler, it looked amazing in videos and photos. I decided to pull the trigger on a black spoiler to contrast against my white car. Today I got a chance to install it and take some photos.
It's a pretty aggressive look and I'm happy I got it over one of the smaller spoilers. I've only driven with the spoiler for a few miles, but I don't think it's really impacting visibility in any significant way. Overall I have to say I love the way it looks on my car. However there was a bit of an issue with the spoiler.
Mainly my complaint is the paint finish. I could tell it had a few scratches in the clear when I unwrapped it. That wasn't a huge deal, it's gloss black it will show the tiniest scratch I completely get that. When I threw it under the fluorescent lighting in my garage I found silver dollar size dull hazed spots in the clear coat right on the most visible side of the spoiler. I hit it with a rotary, and after a couple of different pads and compounds it was nice and shiny without scratches or hazing. I hit it with some wax to seal it up after I was done. Overall I got all the hazing out, but the spray pattern at the worst spot still has a slight difference to it. Can't see it unless you know just how to reflect the light at the right spot while holding your face half an inch away from the spoiler. No one except me will ever know.
It's not the end of the world since I had the tools to correct the paint, but I could see this being a disappointment for someone without these relatively expensive tools. Like I said overall this is a great spoiler and I'm happy I got it.
