Mishimoto Expansion Tank Install

I bought a MIshimoto expansion tank but have a couple questions. How long should I let the car cool before the install? Is 3-4 hours enough? Also, where did you guys route the vent tube?

I only let mine cool for 30 min. Wore gloves and opened the cap slowly. I routed the overflow tube down behind the PCV tube and then over by the windshield washer fluid resivoir.
