Stumbled across a great deal on Michelin PS4S today...

£673 delivered! For the standard wheel sizes (and after cashback). Obviously needs fitting/balancing but that's the cheapest deal I've found.

If you are looking for Pilot Sport tyres then you want Porsche tyres as they are the ones to use, as the Ferrari tyres are not as good

Bit of a sweeping statement ! 'Not as good'

Individual car makers do work on tyre types for their cars, especially the specialist brands. They are often bespoke compounds and specs for the vehicle, often at higher cost (because of smaller numbers) but it may be possible to get perfectly reasonable alternatives.

A good example is the Pirelli P Zero Corsa used on the Lotus Evora which is significantly different because the Evora is lighter than, for example the Mercedes models that also used the tyre at the time. Fitting the Mercedes version did upset the Lotus. They were still round and black and stopped the car dragging along the floor, but the Lotus version was tuned to the Lotus chassis dynamics.

FWIW I was not overly impressed with F1 Autocentres, so can't highly recommend - actual tire change seemed a little clumsy, possible minor scratches added where the wheels were laid down on the workshop floor - seemed to take them ages too.

Tyre centres in general give me the vapours !

My local Ford dealer is very good and looks after the wheels properly. I remember when they changed the rear's on my Lotus (£1k for each rear alloy wheel to replace if you damage it) the guy doing it was really concentrating ! 20 inch 30 profile tyres leave little room for error.

I was at a tyre supplier having winter tyres fitted. There was a guy there with an X3 having the winter tyres he'd had fitted removed & the original summer tyres refitted. The winters were not BMW approved & his dash was throwing up error messages about the transmission which he put down to the tyres. Dont know if that was the case or there was another fault.
