I had MGW installed today. I love the feel.

However, the MGW knob makes a rattle noise in the higher RPM range. I ran without knob and no noise.

I have removed and tightened a couple times....still noisy.

Anyone had this issue?

So I checked everything. When I remove the knob, no noise. I think I am going to have to buy a different one. Oh well

I had the same problem, I think my rattle is from keeping the Roush shift knob. I was about to order a new one from MGW when the idea of putting a plastic or rubber washer between the lock collar and knob popped into my head. I went to Lowes, bought a couple different packs of plastic washers to try, installed one, no more rattle sound.
Just snug the collar and knob together, don't crank it down or the washer will squeeze out or crack. I have had it this way for over 3 months with no issues and no more annoying sounds. I only notice the washer if I am staring at it.
Poor morning reading comprehension, I see you do have the MGW knob, glad I didn't order one! Hopefully my fix can work for you also.

I just had my MGW installed last week and I am having exactly this issue. I will have to try a rubber washer to see if it stops it.

Ever have any luck getting your rattle in the knob taken care of?

I, too, am having this issue and with the washers I have tried so far only seem to be able to muffle the rattle, not be rid of it. I have tried both fiber and nylon washers so far...

Here is how mine looks. Looks like it stands out here but I don't even notice it getting into or sitting in the car. The knob rattled/buzzed the whole time the car was running before doing this. I had the lock nut tightened hard against the shift knob too. It seems that the metal from the lock nut was tight against the metal insert of the shift knob but maybe the plastic ball was buzzing on the edges of the lock nut. I am not really sure what was going on, I just know this is what worked for me.
