Manders (Mustang) is naked

Car parts just dropped off with the owners wife, who actually does the dipping, which she's ran for years as a side to their bodyshop.

Process is as follows:
Level (prime) all parts, to a flat surface
Put on undercoat (This bit was the trickiest pick), I've picked a dark grey graphit colour, greys, blacks, etc can all change how the dips look, and therefore can make it look any colour you want as the 'film' the hydrodip uses is clear in certain parts (for the CF weave)
Apply applicator
Dip the parts in the film
Apply coats of laquer to get a gloss finish.

Bobs your uncle, fannies yer aunt you've got some Carbon Dipped parts !

It's very disheartening hearing the creaks, cracks and snaps of the clips peeling off, thought i'd fucked it up so many times!!! :lol:.

yeah probably, to be honest, they asked me to remove the parts myself, and to be honest, they've never touched a mustang before, so i'd rather any f**k ups were in my hands, fortunatley there was 0

Just had an update, parts wont be done until monday, they're having to order new applicator for the dip to stick, which wasn't before, they've been doing test runs on blocks today and it hasn't been sticking.

So looks like a long weekend for me and a naked car continues :(.

They have but they run it as a side business to the bodyshop that they own, if they don't get people in for dipping it doesn't matter, so they went to test their stock today, on test samples and it fkd up.


Dipping for ages doesn't mean demand is also high ;)!


And yes, my luck is shit, just watch my car go in to have it's lights done and the DRLs not fucking work...

Yes, and yes they'd be able to do it. no idea on the price of doing such work, however, as with my interior, they would require me to take the bits off as they have no experience with the mustangs so would rather I did it... probably about 500 i'd guess. :shrug:. Will ask when I pick them up.
