Thank you for choosing Magnaflow! We're eager to hear how you like the new system.
Hi Magnaflow could you detail the dba levels of the street vs competition at 3/4 full revs as this is key for track usage here in the UK.

Thanks

Fitted my MagnaFlow Street catback yesterday. Reasonably easy job (I had enough energy left to fit some stripes later) for anyone who has done some diy spannering or more. It's a comfortable one man job (there isn't room for 2 of me under the car) unless you have it on a lift I which case 2 would make it easier to catch the old one as it comes off. You will feel like you've been to the gym when you are done.

The convertible has additional bracing under the rear with about 14 bolts so an electric wrench makes it quicker and easier. The brace is in 2 parts and quite heavy but the front bolt hole is slotted so you can hook that in and lift up the brace without assistance when putting it back on.

Not all GT exhausts fit the convertible and this was the case with the Magnaflow when it first came out. it has since been remodelled and fits both. Worth checking for sure if you are changing a convertible exhaust.

The old one came out easily; if you watch the CJ Pony Parts install video this tells you all you need to know. Only 2 sockets required. Remember to lift the tangs on the central clamp, then pull to the rear of the car and the exhaust will drop to the floor (just make sure all body parts are not below any part of the exhaust). I had the rears on ramps and lifted the front a couple of inches onto stands.

The new one went together beautifully. No labelling but laying out on the floor shows which way up the X pipe and mid pipes go. Clamps need to go whichever way gives best clearance from the fuel tank and prop shaft. With everything pushed together tight I had nearly no clearance from the diff but pulling the whole installation back a few millimetres gives ample clearance and still sits nicely in the valence holes. The clamps are good quality and have to be tightened a long way to hold the tailpipes from rotating while you adjust. Use a torque wrench for final tightening as they will go further than feels right because the clamp crushes the band as it tightens so it feels tight a long way out from full torque, if that makes sense.

Sounds great. Was louder than I expected on first start and initially quite boomy (especially with the roof up, strangely) but this seems to have settled down. On a neutral throttle when cruising you'd hardly know it from stock but open the throttle and it's a whole different ball game. Deep and rumbly and no rasp; just what I was looking for.

Pics below. If I can sort out a video I will.

Great job, I'm looking forward to my vert turning up soon. Same spec I think.

At this time we do not offer the black tailpipes on the Street System, only the Competition.
