Well my Nitto's finally bit the dust after 7000 miles. Found a good deal on these M/T's so I decided to try a set.305/35/19's on 19x10 rims.
Now dumb question...do tires need "wore in"?
With these on the car the drive is scary as hell. Anything over 60mph the back end starts to sway back and forth. If I let off gas it straightens out, if I accelerate it straightens out, maintaining speed wobbles. Is this something inherent to MT's? No issues with the Nittos and that was the only change I made. Best description is that it feels like having bias ply wrinkle walls at the end of a run.

100 mile break in typically

How many miles do you have on them and this doesn't sound like a wear in thing

Maybe 50 miles tops. I had the car aligned at dealership last June after I did half shafts and vertical links. Again the Nittos I was running never had this and size is the same.

I heard from a buddy of mine recently, he's running the same tires on 20s and does get that sway. I guess those MTs have really soft sidewallsthat can cause the swaying. He used to run Nitto NT555Rs, but apparently is getting better traction out of the MTs. He just drags and rolls with his TT 5.0, so turning isn't that big of a concern, but he did say he definitely wouldn't want them on a twisty road and would rather stick with the Nittos if that was the type of driving he was doing.

Well the ET S/S is a strip and street tire so the sidewall is softer then usual.
