Ordered on 1/31, entered as ordered on 2/2...specifically asked the Ford Mgr at the dealership if they had allocation for the Mustang. "Oh yeah, plenty of spots.."
COTUS confirmed order date 2/2 with a Priority of 10 which I requested. Waited patiently on a VIN. A month later, still no VIN. Discovered this rural, local dealer had no allocations. Requested my deposit back and they said the check would be in the mail Monday.
Started looking elsewhere and at other vehicles. Last week test drove a Focus ST. Fun car and quite a bit less expensive. But still wanted the Mustang. Looked at a lot of dealer inventory and discovered one "In Transit" almost identical to what I had ordered. The Only difference is that I had ordered 400A and this one has 401A.
I had ordered X-Plan and the new dealer can do better than that. In addition they confirmed over the computer that I did receive the $750.00 Ford cash voucher. Plus $500.00 off for a total of $1250.00 in incentives/rebates/etc.
New car is on COTUS with a scheduled delivery of Friday the 13th!
Weird progression of events considering that for the last 4 months of looking there was not a single car configured the way I wanted it. Now to do a good inspection upon arrival and hopefully in two weeks I'll be driving the new Mustang! :eyebulge:
